PDX & RVA Wedding Photography | Molly & Paul's Wedding at House on Metolius

Oregon has so many incredible wedding locations, but House on Metolius is SERIOUSLY beautiful. This was the second wedding I’ve photographed there (check out Katie & Mark’s wedding there too!) and it was even better than I remembered. It’s quite a trek to get there from Portland and includes almost 100 miles of twists and turns through Santiam Pass. We even had to help someone get their car out of a ditch on the way home! But there’s definitely something special about getting married in the middle of nowhere, especially when your family and friends make the journey with you. It forces everyone to relax, take a vacation, enjoy the scenery and experience everything that Oregon has to offer. Now that I live in Virginia, I miss Oregon and it’s beauty but I’m lucky enough that my job allows me to travel back and forth between the two states. I’ll gladly fly back to Oregon to photograph at House on Metolius any day.

Congrats Molly & Paul! You two are the cutest! <3

Sam & Jordan | Portland Engagement Photography

I’ll be photographing Sam and Jordan’s wedding this fall and I can hardly wait. These two make such a gorgeous couple, and I loved hanging out with them during their engagement shoot. We started off at Prettyman’s General, one of their favorite bars in SE Portland. It’s right next to Coava Coffee on Hawthorne (my all-time favorite Portland coffee). Then we headed into the SE industrial district and wandered around together. I experimented with a few different film cameras (those images are at the end of the post) and I love what we ended up with. They were amazingly patient in dealing with my constant camera switching. :) Stay tuned for their wedding photos in the fall!
